Hale O Pi’ikea Phase II

Hale O Piikea Phase II (Phase 2) is a newly built, 100% affordable senior rental community in central Kīhei and part of the larger Hale O Pi’ikea master development within the Kīhei Downtown Project. Phase 2 adds 97 senior affordable rental units in a four-story building with ground-floor commercial, supporting the County of Maui’s long-term vision for a walkable, mixed-use neighborhood that prioritizes housing alongside essential services.

Designed for kūpuna ages 55 and over, Phase 2 serves income-qualified residents earning 30%, 50%, and 60% of Area Median Income (AMI) or below. The location places daily needs within easy reach, including public transportation, healthcare, social services, shopping, restaurants, and employment areas. The project is also connected to existing bike lanes and pedestrian routes, encouraging convenient mobility and community connectivity.

Hale O Pi’ikea is being delivered in three stages across the broader development, expanding Maui’s supply of income-restricted housing at a time when affordable rentals are increasingly limited. With rents set by County and federal guidelines, Phase 2 provides stable, long-term affordability for seniors while contributing to a broader community-focused plan for Kīhei’s downtown core.
